Changing a company name in Serbia is a procedure carried out before the Serbian Business Registers Agency (APR). It is a common step when a company wants to rebrand, expand its business, or simply adopt a new identity.

What is required to change the company name?

To change the company name with the APR, you should prepare the following:

• Decision on changing the name – adopted by the company’s governing body (for example, the shareholders’ assembly), containing the proposed new name.
• Proof of fee payment – a registration fee is payable for recording the change.
• Registration application for changing the business name (Mandatory data + Annex 01).

Procedure for changing the company name

1. Prepare the required documents, including the decision on the name change and the amended articles/statute if applicable.
2. Pay the prescribed fees.
3. Submit the application with the full supporting documentation to the competent register.
4. After successful registration, obtain the official APR decision confirming the change.

Important notes

The new company name must be unique and must not be confusingly similar to the name of another registered company. Before filing the application, it is advisable to check name availability.
